Biography

Sumytra Menon is a Senior Assistant Director at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics (CBmE), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Her primary role at CBmE is to develop a national competency and accreditation framework for clinical ethics and research ethics training, as part of the National Ethics Capability Committee. She is also the Programme Director of Clinical Ethics Network + Research Ethics Support (CENTRES), which trains members of clinical, research and transplant ethics committees.

Sumytra teaches on CBmE’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She is a lawyer by training with a particular interest in the law on mental capacity and at the end of life, and clinical and research ethics. She is a member of the Joint Steering Committee on ACP and various institutional ethics committees.
